I am a fully qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) in compliance with US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations working independently to serve DOT regulated employers, employees and job applicants as well as non-DOT employees in the States of North Carolina and South Carolina.  Using my 40+ years of experience in a variety of mental health and substance abuse settings, I bring a comprehensive approach to assessing individuals referred for substance abuse violations in order to facilitate a successful return to safety sensitive duty and protect the traveling public. I am particularly focused on determining and intervening with complex barriers to successful compliance with recommendations, usually involving co-occurring mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.
